Description 'The Family Unit in Soft Hues' is an art print done in an impasto style of oil painting (Impasto: a style of painting that creates large bold brush strokes by laying the paint on very thickly and was first used in late 18th century Italy). The inspiration behind this piece are two abstract sculptures we have depicting a family unit. Using them as a basis for this abstract, I created this art print using soft color hues. I positioned the Mom and Dad one behind the other to create depth to the picture. I like the way the bold brush strokes stand out and complete the look. As part of a series based on the same sculpture, I played with a couple of different positions for the parents as well as the color hues. This particular print works well in a contemporary or modern interior design decor because of the bold simple lines.Follow my work:TheWallGallery: https://thewallgallery.comBlog: http://thewallgalleryblog.wordpress.com/Twitter: https://twitter.com/KirtWallGalleryFacebook:https://www.facebook.com/TheWallGallery.KirtTisdaleCopyright 2014 Kirt Tisdale/TheWallGallery.com
Kirt Tisdale, Everett, Washington Member Since February 2013 Artist Statement I have been creating art since I can remember. I have been blessed with having my work featured in various venues. What drives me is the beauty in the world with which we live. I remember as a kid looking up at the clouds and watching them change shape...if they could only stay in one shape long enough for me to enjoy and appreciate them....but that's not how it works. What I can do though is take a moment and freeze it. The beauty around us needs to be savored, contemplated and appreciated. Good art invokes an emotional response either through the scene depicted or the colors used. I hope my work invokes the same in you.
