The Family Unit In Soft Hues
"The Family Unit in Soft Hues" is an art print done in an impasto style of oil painting (Impasto: a style of painting that creates large bold brush strokes by laying the paint on very thickly and was first used in late 18th century Italy). The inspiration behind this piece are two abstract sculptures we have depicting a family unit. Using them as a basis for this abstract, I created this art print using soft color hues. I positioned the Mom and Dad one behind the other to create depth to the picture. I like the way the bold brush strokes stand out and complete the look. As part of a series based on the same sculpture, I played with a couple of different positions for the parents as well as the color hues. This particular print works well in a contemporary or modern interior design decor because of the bold simple lines.
