"Sailboat on Lake Union" is an art print I created using a fauvist oil technique. The technique focuses on bold brush strokes and abstract shapes to create this print. The setting is Lake Union in Seattle, Washington. On a warm summer day you can find sailboats and speedboats leaving their docks for a day on the water. Located just north of the downtown area, it is in the heart of urban life for Seattle residence. There are lots of docks along the shoreline that provide permanent residence for many of the boats that call this lake home. Lake Union is part of the Lake Washington Ship Canal that joins Lake Washington to the east to the open waters of the Puget Sound.
