Next To Go
Next To Go is an art print I created using a gothic oil technique of two hot air balloons rising. The technique focuses on the colors of hot air balloons and uses earthen tones and strong brush strokes to create an old world feel. Hot air balloons stand out prominent with their colors against the sky. The bold reds, blues, oranges, greens and yellows take center stage. This piece was from a photograph taken during preparation for a "Sunset Hot Air Balloon Ride' in San Diego. We met the pilot with the other riders in a parking lot of a local business. We were then taken to an open field where our balloon was being inflated for the ride. The ride was spectacular and the scenery beautiful. What I like about this piece is the way it captures a mood from that moment. Using a gothic oil technique gives the piece that old world warmth which is exactly what I was looking for.
